Abstract
The modern global economy is undergoing profound transformation driven by internal factors such as digitalization, technological change, and the energy transition, as well as external challenges including geopolitical instability, global crises, and shifts in the balance of power in international trade. These developments have intensified international tensions, increased uncertainty in the global economy and financial markets, and contributed to the growing number of armed conflicts and terrorist threats. This article examines the major trends shaping the global economy and identifies the strategic priorities of Azerbaijan's foreign economic policy in response to these global changes. Particular attention is given to economic diversification, integration into international markets, and strengthening Azerbaijan's position as a regional transit and energy hub to ensure sustainable economic development.
